Race fans, start your engines. The 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule officially kicks off Sunday with the Daytona 500.

Coming off a season in which the Big 3 of Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. seemingly won every race (and yet none came away with the championship as Joey Logano earned his first Cup Series title), this season is once again shaping up to be a good one as familiar faces (including Truex) take over new rides.

And as one new rule change stipulates drivers who fail inspection after a race will be disqualified rather than simply dropping playoff points, this year comes with a little more risk, as well.

William Byron won the Daytona 500 pole in qualifying a week prior to the race with Hendrick Motorsports teammate Alex Bowman starting second. The rest of the starting lineup will be determined Thursday at the Daytona Duels.
